Conversion Example: To convert
temperature/mass/volume:
-Click
on desired conversion radio button, i.e. Celsius to Fahrenheit.
-Enter
the temperature/mass/volume you want to convert in the
appropriate "Your Value" edit box.
-Click
on the "Calculate" Button.
-Your
converted value will be displayed in the corresponding
"Calculated Value" edit box.
Bitterness
Calculator Example:
-If
you know the target Alpha Acid Units for your
recipe, then click on "AAU to Hop weight in ounces"
radio button.
-If
you wish to know your beer's AAU based upon the weight of the
added hops then click on the "Hop weight in ounces to
AAU" radio button.
-Regardless
of the desired conversion, enter the alpha acid percentage of the hops in the "Hop Alpha Acid
%" edit box.
-Depending
on which radio button you chose, enter your Hop weight in ounces
or the recipe Alpha Acid Units in the appropriate edit box.
-Click
on the "Calculate" button.
-Depending
on the radio button chosen, the calculated value will be
displayed in the appropriate edit box.
Beer Analysis Example:
-Enter
your beer's original specific gravity in the "Original Gravity" edit box.
-Enter
your beer's final specific gravity in the "Final Gravity" edit box.
-Click
on the "Calculate" Button.
-Values
for Original
Extract, Apparent Extract, Real
Extract, % Alcohol by Volume, % Alcohol
by Weight, Apparent
Attenuation, Real Attenuation and Calories per Pint will be displayed in the
appropriate edit box.
Specific Gravity
Correction example:
-Enter
the sampled beer's specific gravity in the appropriate edit box.
-Enter
the temperature in °F of the measured beer.
-Click
on the "Calculate" Button.
-Your
beer's corrected specific gravity will be displayed in the
appropriate box.
NOTE: If you are using Windows 95 and the text of the JAVA programs does not fit properly into the gray areas, then you need to change your font properties to small vice large.
