Return to main page Magnetic Pump

Lee's Brewery uses a magnetic pump to circulate wort from the bottom to the top of the mash vessel to help stabilize mash temperatures.  At the end of the mashing process the pump is used to move the wort from the bottom of the mash vessel to the bottom of the boiling kettle.  Looking at the picture of the pump on the right, wort is drawn from the bottom and is pumped through the two branches on the top.  Flow is controlled by opening or closing the valves on the top of the mash vessel and the bottom of boiling kettle.  The pump came with only bare wires for power and had to be hooked, via a switch to AC power.
